Day of Deceaseds - Popular Celebrations
 
The 2 of November the Day of Deceaseds is celebrated in all the country. Date of singular importance in the calendar of our popular celebrations, that is characterized by a mixture of folklore, traditions and customs. The natives are going to the cementario to eat with their dear deads because they have the belief that the death is the mere passage to another life similar to this one.

 
Finados ritual meals of are the mulberry tap - with black maize, with spices, aromatic grass and mortiño -, and guagas of bread with form of children surrounded to the traditional way, although also horses and flames hornean themselves. Other foods are the guinea pig roasted with Popes, some fruits and chicha of maize. A little this drink is watered in the Earth like an offering to the Pacha Mama. He is very concurred the cemetery of Calderón, to the northeast of Quito, as well as those of Otavalo and Cotacachi. In Ambato a fair of toys is made, from the custom to give artisan juguetitos to the children, reason by which the flame, "very small Christmas"
